Not On My Watch

It was midnight 
And there was 
A
Child screaming 
Crying 
Crying 
A thud
Another scream, louder and more hoarse. 

Then silence. 

And I’m not sure which is more dangerous. 

Either way… 
“911, what is the address of your emergency?”
